I had a rough week I must admit. My boss in the previous company made it clear that I need to leave since there were some re-organization (or whatever that means). So I got back to what I love to do the most. Make games.
For my 2 week project I am designing a game with Unity3D for the gaming contest hosted by Kongregate. Its really nice to know that Kongregate is joining hands with Unity3D.
Unity3D is undoubtedly one of the best game engine that is out there and I have been using it for almost 5 months now. It is incredible how easy the game engine makes the life of a game developer. So without further adieu I shall start.
It will be a puzzle game set in a pitch dark prison where 10 prisoners need to make their way out of a labyrinth (or a maze as you may also call) to proceed that much closer to their final destination - freedom. As a player you mastermind the escape of these prisoners and make sure that they use the right tactics to finish each level.
Since it is a pitch-dark environment, it is important that the prisoners make their way slowly while exploring the environment. The player will get to move the group together by pointing the direction they should go to. As the prisoners start exploring, more clues appear. A clue in the game is essentially something the player can click on to get additional options.
This post will continue to be my week-long post about the progress of this project. I will post my source code and snippets of game-play. Make sure you install unity web-player (takes like 2 mins).
Feel free to criticize (if necessary take the shit out as long as it makes sense) since they are very valuable.
Cheers !
